Cyber Essentials is available in two levels
Cyber Essentials
An independently verified self-assessment, priced according to your organisation’s size.
Process:
- Complete a self-assessment questionnaire covering your assessment scope, employees, devices, and work location.
- Answer questions on the five core controls: user access control, secure configuration, security update management, firewalls and routers, and malware protection.
- Have the answers signed off by a board member or equivalent.
- An independent Assessor reviews the responses.
Benefits:
Includes automatic cyber liability insurance for UK organisations that certify their entire organisation and have an annual turnover of less than £20m.
Cyber Essentials PLUS
Includes a technical audit of your IT systems, priced according to the size and complexity of your network.
Process:
- Complete the Cyber Essentials self-assessment questionnaire (a prerequisite for Cyber Essentials Plus).
- Undergo a technical audit of your IT systems to verify the implementation of the required controls.
Benefits:
- Provides additional assurance that your organisation complies with the scheme.
- The audit covers a representative set of user devices, all internet gateways, and all servers with services accessible to unauthenticated internet users.
