Embracing Diversity: Our Commitment to Gender Equality in the Workplace

At norm., we believe that diversity is not just a goal but a fundamental value that drives innovation, fosters creativity, and creates a more inclusive workplace. Today, we are thrilled to announce our commitment to gender equality with a bold initiative aimed at reshaping the composition of our workforce.

We are dedicated to ensuring that by 2030, at least 40% of our workforce consists of women. Furthermore, we have set an intermediate goal of reaching 30% female representation by 2027. This initiative is not just about meeting quotas; it’s about creating an environment where everyone, regardless of gender, feels valued, respected, and empowered to succeed.

Why are we making this commitment? Because we recognise the transformative power of diversity. Research has consistently shown that diverse teams outperform homogenous ones. By bringing together people with different backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences, we can better understand our customers, foster innovation, and drive sustainable growth.

Gender diversity is critical in industries like ours, where women have historically been underrepresented. By increasing the number of women in our workforce, we are not only tapping into a vast pool of talent but challenging stereotypes and breaking down barriers that have hindered progress for far too long.

This commitment to diversity hits close to home for me. I’m the proud father of two incredible daughters and seeing their passion and potential firsthand fuels me to double our efforts and actively promote gender equality in the cyber security industry. One of my daughters spent time at norm. having joined through our graduate scheme. Her journey, alongside other talented female colleagues, underscores our dedication to nurturing and empowering women in the industry.

But our commitment to diversity doesn’t stop at hiring. In our quest to cultivate a truly inclusive environment, we’re proud to offer a range of benefits and initiatives aimed at fostering a culture where everyone can thrive.

  • We provide ongoing education and training opportunities to help our employees stay at the cusp of developments within the industry. Whether it’s through workshops, online courses, or certification programmes, we’re committed to investing in our team’s professional development.
  • We recognise the importance of work-life balance, which is why we offer flexible working arrangements to accommodate the diverse needs of our employees. Whether it’s remote work options, flexible hours or part-time opportunities, we believe in empowering our team to find a schedule that works best for them.
  • Additionally, we understand that taking time off is essential for maintaining well-being and productivity. That’s why we’ve implemented a unique program that allows employees to accrue additional holiday time based on their contributions to the company.

By providing these resources and support systems, we’re not only fostering a more inclusive workplace but also empowering our team to reach their full potential. At the end of the day, diversity isn’t just about representation—it’s about creating an environment where everyone feels valued, supported, and able to thrive.
